v2rayN Proxy Setup: Add an HTTP or SOCKS Server

v2rayN adds a plain proxy from its Settings menu. Choose Add [HTTP] or Add [SOCKS], type the gateway host in address, the port in port and the login in the optional username and password fields, leave the transport settings alone, then set the server as active and test its delay. The system proxy or Tun mode routes Windows through it.

Set up the proxy in v2rayN

1. Add a server from the Settings menu

Open v2rayN and click Settings (配置项) in the top menu. Choose Add [HTTP] for the HTTP port or Add [SOCKS] for the SOCKS5 port; the dialog is the same, only the protocol differs.

2. Enter the proxy details

Type a remark, the gateway host in address and the port in port, then the username and password in the optional fields. Leave transport, network, type, host, path and TLS at their defaults and click OK.

3. Set as active and test

Right-click the new row and choose Set as Active Server, then Test Delay. A latency in milliseconds means the gateway answered with your login.

4. Route the system

In the bottom bar set the system proxy to Set system proxy, or enable Tun mode for apps that ignore the system proxy. The live traffic log shows connections through the node.

5. Verify the exit IP

Open the QuantumProxies IP checker in a browser. It should show the proxy's IP and the country from the username.

Check it

Test Delay on the server row; then the IP checker in a browser once the system proxy is set.

v2rayN 7.x is shown; 6.x has the same entries under a slightly different menu.

What to type: hosts, ports and the username

Copy the line from the dashboard (Proxies, your plan, the proxy generator) rather than typing it: it already carries the country, the session id and the session length in the username. The table shows what each field holds.

PlanHostHTTP portSOCKS5 portUsername shape
Residential Premiumresidentialpremium.quantumproxies.io80801080USER-country-us-sid-k3f9a1b2-ttl-60m

The password is the one the generator prints next to the username. Pick HTTP or SOCKS5 in the tool and use the port of that column; a port from the other column is the most common reason a check fails. USER and the session id are placeholders for your own values.

Frequently Asked Questions

Add [HTTP] or Add [SOCKS] in v2rayN?

Add [HTTP] with the HTTP port of your plan, Add [SOCKS] with the SOCKS5 port. The address, username and password are the same in both dialogs.

Test Delay fails in v2rayN. Why?

The protocol does not match the port, or the username and password were left empty: our gateways require them even though v2rayN marks the fields optional.

System proxy or Tun mode in v2rayN?

Set system proxy covers browsers and most apps. Tun mode captures everything, including apps that ignore proxy settings, and needs the Tun core v2rayN offers to install.
