NekoBox Proxy Setup (Android): An HTTP or SOCKS Node on the Phone

NekoBox for Android adds a node from the add button in the top-right corner. Choose HTTP or SOCKS, type the gateway host in the server field and the port in the port field, fill the username and password even though they are marked optional, save with the tick and start the node. The app opens a VPN connection that routes the phone.

4. Start the node

Select the node in the list and tap the start button. Android asks to allow the VPN connection once; accept it. Open the QuantumProxies IP checker in a browser to confirm the exit IP.

5. Add more nodes (optional)

Repeat the steps with another line, for example a different country in the username, and switch between nodes from the list.

Check it

The URL test on the node, then the IP checker in the phone's browser once the node is started.

Apps on the phone now exit through the proxy. Per-app routing is in NekoBox's settings if you want only some apps on the line.

What to type: hosts, ports and the username

Copy the line from the dashboard (Proxies, your plan, the proxy generator) rather than typing it: it already carries the country, the session id and the session length in the username. The table shows what each field holds.

The password is the one the generator prints next to the username. Pick HTTP or SOCKS5 in the tool and use the port of that column; a port from the other column is the most common reason a check fails. USER and the session id are placeholders for your own values.

Frequently Asked Questions

HTTP or SOCKS in NekoBox for Android?

HTTP with the HTTP port of your plan, SOCKS with the SOCKS5 port. The server and login do not change.

The username and password are marked optional. Do I need them?

Yes. Our gateways authenticate by username and password; without them the node connects but every request is refused.

Does NekoBox on Android work on mobile data and Wi-Fi?

Yes. The VPN connection it opens routes whichever network the phone is on through the proxy.
