# DataImpulse Alternative – No 2x Geo Fee | QuantumProxies.io

DataImpulse vs QuantumProxies: both start at $1/GB, but DataImpulse bills state, city, ZIP and ASN traffic at double. Ours includes them at $1.00/GB.

## DataImpulse vs QuantumProxies: Same $1/GB, No Targeting Surcharge

DataImpulse and QuantumProxies Residential Basic both start at $1.00 per GB and reach $0.80 at 1 TB. The difference is what that gigabyte includes: DataImpulse bills state, city, ZIP and ASN traffic at double the rate, so a city-targeted gigabyte costs $2.00. Ours includes state, city and ASN targeting at $1.00.

## The verdict: QuantumProxies

At the base rate the two cost the same. As soon as you target below country level, QuantumProxies costs half as much, runs without a thread cap, and puts a Scraper API and a SERP API on the same balance.

- City-targeted traffic: $1.00/GB against $2.00/GB at DataImpulse's base tier.
- At 1 TB with city targeting: $0.80/GB against $1.60/GB.
- Unlimited concurrent sessions; DataImpulse caps each plan at 2,000 threads.
- Scraper API, SERP API and MCP server on the same balance; DataImpulse sells proxies only.

They are base rates with country targeting: DataImpulse bills state, city, ZIP and ASN traffic at double. QuantumProxies figures are from our live plan catalogue. All prices in USD, excluding VAT.

## DataImpulse vs QuantumProxies, feature by feature

The headline rates match, so the differences sit in what each gigabyte includes. These are the terms both providers publish for residential proxies, each taken from the provider's own pages and documentation.

DataImpulse column read on 28 October 2026 from its residential proxy page and its documentation, which states that state, city, ZIP and ASN traffic is billed at double the standard rate and that each plan is limited to 2,000 threads; the provider is named here, not linked. The $2.00 and $1.60 figures are that rule applied to its $1.00 and $0.80 tiers. QuantumProxies column from our Residential Basic page. Published terms, not an independent test.

## Other DataImpulse alternatives, compared on price

Switching away from DataImpulse usually means shortlisting three or four providers, not one. This is the rest of our pricing index: every residential provider we track, the rate a new account pays, the cheapest rate each one advertises, and what that cheapest rate costs to unlock. We name them and we do not link to them — the index itself records a source page for every figure, so any of it can be checked without taking our word for it.

| Provider | Pay-as-you-go per GB | Cheapest advertised rate | Minimum to start |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| QuantumProxies — Residential Basic | $1.00 | $0.80 | $5 minimum, no subscription |

| IPRoyal | $7.35 | $1.75 | none; $1.75/GB only on subscription from 10 TB (PAYG bulk is $1.84/GB from 10 TB) |
| Bright Data | $8.00 | $2.50 | none (PAYG) / $1,999-mo (798 GB plan) for $2.50 tier |
| Oxylabs | No pay-as-you-go rate | $2.50 | no PAYG; $30/mo (5 GB Starter at $6/GB); $2.50 tier requires $2,500/mo (1 TB Corporate) |

Competitor prices verified 2026-09-08. Sorted by pay-as-you-go rate, lowest first. That is an arithmetic order, not a ranking: providers publishing no pay-as-you-go rate appear last, and nothing here scores quality, success rate or support. Figures are advertised list prices taken from each provider's own public pricing page on the verification date shown above, in USD, excluding VAT.

DataImpulse sells residential proxies by the gigabyte with no subscription, at the same $1.00 headline rate as our Residential Basic. That makes it one of the few providers where the base price is not the argument. What separates the two is in the documentation: what a targeted gigabyte costs, how many connections a plan allows, and what else the balance can buy.

## Same base rate, different bill

DataImpulse charges $1.00 per GB on its 5 GB and 50 GB plans and $0.80 per GB from 1 TB ($800). Residential Basic charges $1.00 per GB up to 100 GB, $0.90 at 500 GB and $0.80 at 1 TB. With country targeting only, the two invoices are the same. The difference starts the moment a job needs a state, a city or a network.

## City and ASN targeting at double the rate

DataImpulse's documentation states that traffic routed with the state, city, ZIP or ASN parameter is billed at double the standard rate: $2.00 per GB at the base tier and $1.60 per GB on the 1 TB plan. Residential Basic includes state, city and ASN targeting in its $1.00 rate, with no per-location surcharge, so 100 GB of city-targeted traffic costs $100 with us and $200 there.

## No thread cap

Each DataImpulse plan is limited to 2,000 threads. Past that the gateway answers with a 407 error, and a higher limit has to be requested from support. Residential Basic lists unlimited concurrent sessions, so a crawler that scales out does not hit a ceiling it has to ask about.

## Proxies and data on one balance

DataImpulse sells proxies: residential, premium residential, datacenter and mobile. Its site lists no scraping API and no SERP API. The same QuantumProxies balance that pays for residential bandwidth also runs our Scraper API, SERP API and MCP server, so a scraping or agent workflow does not need a second vendor.

## What independent reviews say about DataImpulse

Proxyway's review, with residential tests run in April 2026, found the pool modest next to most alternatives and nearly 15% of the US IPs it saw coming from servers rather than homes. TechRadar's July 2026 review lists the lack of a managed scraping API among its reasons to avoid. On Trustpilot, when we checked on 28 October 2026, DataImpulse's rating was shown as unavailable due to a breach of Trustpilot's guidelines. These are third-party accounts, not our tests; each one is linked in the sources below.

## What you get for $1.00 per GB

Real ISP-assigned residential addresses in 200+ countries, from Residential Basic's own pool, with rotating and sticky sessions, HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5, and country, state, city and ASN targeting with no per-location surcharge. Authentication is by username and password or IP whitelist, concurrent sessions are unlimited, and proxy strings come from the dashboard or the REST API.

## Volume pricing without a subscription

The rate falls with the size of the plan and nothing recurs: $1.00 per GB up to 100 GB, $450 for 500 GB ($0.90 per GB) and $800 for 1 TB ($0.80 per GB). Each plan is a one-off purchase. Nothing renews, and nothing is charged again unless you buy again.

## Paying, including without a card

Card, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay are supported, along with Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, Monero and around 300 other cryptocurrencies. Crypto and account-balance payments carry no VAT, while card, PayPal and Stripe add 22%.

## Moving from DataImpulse

Both providers put targeting in the proxy username, so switching is mostly a connection string. Generate a Residential Basic proxy in the dashboard with the country and, if you need it, the state, city or ASN, plus a rotating or sticky session; then replace the DataImpulse host, port and credentials. Send a sample of your real URLs through it before you move all of your traffic.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### Is DataImpulse legit?

DataImpulse is an operating proxy provider. The points buyers raise are about pool quality and reviews: Proxyway's April 2026 tests found nearly 15% of the US IPs it saw coming from servers, and when we checked on 28 October 2026 Trustpilot showed DataImpulse's rating as unavailable due to a breach of its guidelines.

### Does DataImpulse charge extra for city targeting?

Yes. Its documentation says traffic using the state, city, ZIP or ASN parameter is billed at double the standard rate: $2.00 per GB at the base tier and $1.60 at 1 TB. QuantumProxies Residential Basic includes state, city and ASN targeting at $1.00 per GB.

### Is DataImpulse cheaper than QuantumProxies?

On the base rate with country targeting, the two match: $1.00 per GB, and $0.80 at 1 TB. With state, city or ASN targeting, QuantumProxies costs half as much.

### How much does DataImpulse cost?

Read on 28 October 2026: $5 for 5 GB as a one-time intro plan for new customers, $50 for 50 GB, $800 for 1 TB, and custom pricing from 5 TB. State, city, ZIP and ASN traffic is billed at double those rates.

### What is the best DataImpulse alternative?

For targeted residential traffic, QuantumProxies Residential Basic: $1.00 per GB with state, city and ASN targeting included, $0.80 per GB at 1 TB, and unlimited concurrent sessions. The table on this page lists the rest of the market.

### Does DataImpulse have a scraping API?

Not on its site when we checked on 28 October 2026: it sells residential, premium residential, datacenter and mobile proxies. QuantumProxies runs a Scraper API, a SERP API and an MCP server from the same balance as its proxies.

### How do I switch from DataImpulse to QuantumProxies?

Create an account, buy a Residential Basic plan and generate a proxy string in the dashboard with the country, state, city or ASN and the session type you need. Replace the DataImpulse host, port and credentials with it; both providers carry targeting in the username, so most setups only need the connection string changed.

## So: is QuantumProxies the better DataImpulse alternative?

If you only ever target by country, the two cost the same per gigabyte. If you target a state, a city or a network, QuantumProxies costs half as much, with no thread cap and with data APIs on the same balance. Run your own targets through it before you decide.
